AMCO Engineering needed to reduce the fats, oils, and greases in the first stage of its three-stage wash line, since the company discharged this stage into the sewer quarterly and then made up a fresh bath. This was necessary to ensure compliance with the Metropolitan Reclamation District of Greater Chicago standards. The company purchased a unit that includes an immersion heater for automatic temperature maintenance within a specific range, and both surge and shunt protection to compensate for the irregularities of the local electrical service.
